Encounter® Mighty-Mite Fly Rod Outfit

The downsized grip actually fits my hands, which made learning to cast way less frustrating than the full-size rod I borrowed last summer. Took it out on a small creek twice now and it loads nicely for short casts.

I'm a beginner with smaller hands, and this downsized rod finally made casting feel manageable instead of clumsy. The compact 7-foot length is perfect for tight spots along the creek behind my house. Hooked my first bluegill on it last weekend and actually got the line to lay out straight.

Took this little 7-foot rod to a stocked pond and actually managed decent casts by the afternoon. The shorter length makes it way less intimidating than the 9-footers I tried before, and the whole outfit came ready to fish.
