The segmentation on these quills looks way more natural than the dubbing I usually use for midge bodies. Tied up a batch of size 20 chironomids last night and the ribbing gave them that subtle ridged look trout seem to key on.

Wrapped these around a size 14 emerger and the segmentation gives it that subtle ribbed look without any thread bulk. They stretch nicely around the hook shank and hold their shape once wound tight.
