Barbour® Thornproof Dressing

This tin lasts ages—I’ve re-waxed three jackets and there’s still plenty left. The dressing melts evenly and soaks right into the cotton, so my sleeves finally shed rain again.

I’ve used wax dressings before that were either too stiff or too greasy, but this one spreads on smoothly and soaks right into the cotton without leaving a heavy residue. My jacket’s repelled a good few downpours since I re-waxed it last weekend, and the cloth still feels flexible, not board-like.

The tin feels substantial and the dressing goes on smoothly, which made re-proofing my old waxed jacket a straightforward job. It’s soaked in well overnight, and the cotton feels properly protected again for the coming rainy months.
