Bonefish Gotcha

The weight on this one made a real difference casting into wind on the flats. I fished it slow over sand and had three bonefish eat it before lunch.

Third bonefish trip with this fly and it’s still the first one I tie on when the flats get tough. The saltwater build holds up trip after trip, and the profile sits just right for spooky fish. Casts clean and sinks exactly where I need it.

The hook point stayed needle-sharp even after I bounced it off a few mangrove roots, which surprised me for a saltwater fly in this price range. Casts true and cuts through the wind better than the cheaper stuff I’d been using. These are going straight into my bonefish box for the next trip.
