Tied my first woolly bugger with this kit and the materials included were plenty to get through a dozen flies. The hooks are sharp and the thread hasn't frayed on me once, which I was worried about as a total beginner.

The bobbin and scissors feel like tools I'll keep using long after I outgrow the starter phase. Materials for classic patterns are already in the box, so I tied my first few flies the same night it arrived. Genuinely glad I spent a bit more instead of grabbing a cheap set.
