Finishing streamers at the bench used to take me three tries to get the wraps tight, but this thing cinches them in one pull. The little groove holds the thread without fraying it, which I didn't expect at this price.
The rotating head makes finishing nymphs and streamers so much faster than hand-wrapping, and it grips the thread tight without slipping. I've been using it both at the bench and on the water, and it's held up great.
I tie a lot of size 18 dries and my old finisher kept slipping off the thread. This one holds tension nicely and the hook grabs even 8/0 thread on the first try. Finishing a dozen nymphs went way faster last night.
