Didn't think I needed one of these until I started tying smaller nymphs, and now it's the tool I reach for first. The handle gives me way more control than my old improvised needle, so applying head cement and pulling thread through dubbing goes a lot quicker.
The needle point on this bodkin is fine enough that I can pick apart dubbing without fraying it, which my old tool always did. Handy for both tiny midges and bigger streamers, and the handle doesn't slip when my fingers are slick with wax.
Didn't expect a simple tool to make dubbing loops this much easier, but the tapered point slides in without fraying the thread. Grip stays comfortable even after an hour at the vise.
