Tied up a batch of deceivers with these and the extra length lets me get that nice flowing tail without splicing two feathers together. The stems are flexible enough to wrap without breaking, which I've had trouble with on cheaper hackle.
The feathers are way longer than the standard saddle hackle I've been using, so tying deceivers takes half the time. They hold a nice wiggle in the water without fouling, and the stems strip clean.
Tied a batch of deceivers with these last weekend and the hackle moves in the water exactly how I wanted, nice and wiggly without collapsing. The length means I can wrap a whole collar from one feather instead of piecing two together.
