Millbrook, NY Fly Fishing School

I came in with zero casting experience and left actually able to drop a fly where I aimed on the creek. The instructors broke everything down step by step, and the 400 acres gave us plenty of room to practice without feeling rushed.

The casting drills across the 400 acres really clicked for me—by the second afternoon I was landing flies where I aimed, which felt like magic. The instructors were patient and never made me feel silly for fumbling the line.

The 400 acres of lush landscape made the whole day feel like an escape, not just a lesson. My casting improved more in one session than in years of fumbling on my own, and the hands-on instruction was patient without ever talking down to me. I’m already planning a return trip next spring.
