Encounter® Fly Rod

I picked this up as a total beginner and it's been surprisingly forgiving to learn on. The rod loads nicely on shorter casts, which made it way less frustrating than the old hand-me-down I tried first.

As someone who'd never cast a fly rod before, I was nervous, but this thing is genuinely forgiving. The lightweight blank makes it easy to feel the line load, and I was actually getting decent casts by my second trip out.

Took this out on a local trout stream for my first real attempt at casting and it loaded smoothly without feeling whippy. The grip is comfortable enough to hold onto for a few hours, which I didn't expect at this price.
